Writing 

Darley Newman's writing has appeared in a wide range of media outlets, television shows and books, including CNN, Scripps Networks, Encore Starz, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, Women's Adventure, Budget Travel, Huffington Post and best-selling novels.

She authored the award-winning book, "Equitrekking Travel Adventures on Horseback," published by Chronicle Books, which won Best Travel Book from the North American Travel Journalist Association and worked as a researcher and writer for a best-selling author.

 

She's written scripts for over 82 half hours of the PBS and Amazon Prime TV series she created, "Travels with Darley" and "Equitrekking." Honored with a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Writing, alongside Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" and Ellen DeGeneres, Darley was profiled by Stephen Colbert on "The Colbert Report." She would go on to garner four more Emmy Award nominations for producing, hosting and series work.

In crafting digital shorts, she's written narration and scripts for Verizon Digital, MSN, the Huffington Post and Scripps Networks, as well as broadcast interstitials focused on American West movie history for the Encore Starz! Westerns Network. A producer/ editor, she also put her creative skills to work editing broadcast and digital productions.

For over a decade, she penned regular columns for Practical Horseman and True West magazines on her adventures horseback riding around the world and served as a contributing editor to Budget Travel Magazine, also appearing as a travel expert on The Today Show and The Weather Channel.
