Darley was honored with the Inspiring Women Award alongside six amazing women at the at the Celebration of Inspiring Women on March 20 at the Women’s Leadership Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She spoke to over 500 women about her challenges in starting her own business and creating her dream job.
Her visit and award was profiled in various media, including The Sun News, and puts Darley into the South Carolina Hall of Fame. In addition to Darley, the 2012 recipients include: Patricia Harris, global chief diversity officer, McDonald’s Corporation LLC; Anne Worsham Richardson, artist, naturalist, lecturer; Brig. Gen. Velma Richardson, U.S. Army retired, business development principal of Information Systems and Global Services; and Inez Tenenbaum, chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
